Ride to the Missouri Vietnam Wall Memorial

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - Governor Mike Parson visited Perryville, Missouri for the Missouri Vietnam Wall Run 2019 held on Saturday, September 20.

The governor spoke to the crowd and NFL Hall of Famer Jackie Smith sang the National Anthem.

It is the first statewide motorcycle run to the new Missouri National Veterans Memorial in Perryville.

“All those names on that wall, that's why we are here,” said Parson. “If we ever let that wall's memories be faded, then our country fades. we're not who we are as Americans, and that's why it's important.”

There are more than 58,000 U.S. casualties in the Vietnam War, 1,400 of those were from Missouri, and 35 are still missing.
