WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - Illinois State Police were called to a crash on Route 166 just south of Creal Springs.
It happened on Sunday afternoon around 3:06 p.m. according to Trooper Bridget Rice with ISP District 13.
According to state police, a preliminary investigation shows the 36-year-old driver of a Buick LeSabre from Johnston City was southbound on Route 166 north of Bost Orchard Road.
A 60-year-old driver from Creal Springs was driving a Chevrolet Silverado northbound.
The Buick crossed the center-line and hit the Chevrolet head-on.
Both drivers were flown to a regional hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Buick was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
The road had shut down for a while, but it was back open by 5:30 p.m. according to law enforcement.
