LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Gov. Matt Bevin's campaign has announced that President Donald Trump will be coming to Louisville to take part in a fundraiser.
The Bevin campaign says Mr. Trump will be in Louisville on Aug. 21 to headline a re-election campaign fundraiser.
“Governor Bevin is thankful for President Trump’s friendship and strong support,” the Bevin campaign said in a statement announcing the event Monday. “The Trump-Bevin economy has created over 55,000 jobs, leading to the lowest unemployment in Kentucky history. The governor looks forward to furthering that partnership as they continue to work together to move Kentucky forward.”
The location of the fundraiser was not given.
Later Monday, it was announced that Trump also would speak at the AMVETS’ annual national convention that same day from noon to 3 p.m. at the Galt House hotel in downtown Louisville.
According to a statement from AMVETS, Trump is expected to discuss his administration’s views, goals and ongoing efforts regarding America’s military veterans. Topics are expected to include veterans suicide prevention, veterans’ access to healthcare and educational expenses, among others.
