FRANKFORT, Ky. (KFVS) - Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin has recognized the sacrifice of a Commonwealth WWII sailor whose remains recently were identified.

Navy Fireman 1st Class Billy J. Johnson, 22, of Caney, Ky. was assigned to the battleship USS Oklahoma where it was moored at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor when attacked.

There were 429 deaths, including Fireman 1st Class Johnson.

He will be buried Aug. 19, 2019, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
