Campus visitor dies from weather-related incident at Murray State University

Murray, Ky. (KFVS) - One person is dead after storms went through Calloway County, Kentucky on Sunday, June 23.

A visitor to Murray State was a victim of a weather-related incident on the campus of Murray State, according to Director of Communications Shawn Touney.

Touney said the victim was not a student of the university, but was there to bring their child to the university to participate in a summer program.

The victim was at the White Residential Hall on campus at the time and was taken to an area hospital for treatment of weather-related injuries.

The victim died from those injuries on Monday, June 24.

Touney also said the University’s thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
