Hwy. 177 barricades removed in Cape Girardeau Co. drivers say

Portion of Route 177 open again

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A portion of 177 that had been closed because of flooding appears to be open again as of July 4.

It’s no longer listed as closed on MODOT’s travel map. At least one driver has told us the barricades are down and vehicles have been driving through.

MO 177 officially open to traffic for the first time in many weeks.

The Missouri Department of Transportation crews were building an elevated road using gravel on Route 177 in Cape Girardeau beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 3.

This is from County Road 651 to County Road 657, near Gizmo Lane.

According to MoDOT, this was due to a complete closure because of flooding.
