CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) -Good Monday Evening Heartland. We are issuing a First Alert Action Day for the threat of severe weather tomorrow and especially tomorrow night. This evening we will see clouds increase with mild temperatures. There will be a complex of storms that will move our way during the early morning hours. These storms are expected to weaken but could produce strong winds across our far western counties before day break. Lows will be in the middle 50s north to middle 60s south.
Tuesday we will start off with a weakening line of showers moving across our area. A warm front will surge north during the afternoon hours. There may be a few isolated storms that develop along this front. Any storm that can develop could become severe. Highs will reach the lower 80s north to upper 80s south.
The main threat for severe weather will move into our western counties tomorrow evening as a squall line moves our way. This line of storms will likely be producing damaging winds and isolated tornadoes as it enters our western counties. The line will likely weaken as it moves east across the Heartland but, damaging winds will be possible with this line through the early morning hours on Wednesday.
