CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau Air Festival featured more than just planes. It also had a variety of vendors from food, drinks, informational booths and more.
One vendor Heartland News talked to was Team Rubicon's City Administrator Jennifer Rubin who was informing people about a nationwide disaster relief program.
Rubin said it's important that they get the word out to help raise awareness about this organization.
“You never know when disaster is going to strike. We have a plethora amount of volunteers ready to go to help out with that,” Rubin stated. “We need to make sure everyone knows who we are so they know we are a resource there to help with if needed.”
Team Rubicon is a nonprofit organization that joins together the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams after a national disaster or humanitarian crises.
Team Rubicon will be back out at the Cape Girardeau Air Festival on Sunday. For more information, visit their website here.
