CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A man withdrew his not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to murder in the shooting death of a Cape Girardeau man.
James W. Gray was in court on April 11. That’s when he withdrew his not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to the charge of murder.
His sentencing hearing was scheduled for Friday, May 17.
A second man, Alexander Martin, is scheduled for a case review on May 28. He was charged with tampering with physical evidence.
On February 11, 2018, Cape Girardeau police responded to an apartment on S. Spring Ave. where they found 19-year-old Tyler Conway dead on the floor from an apparent gunshot wound.
Gray allegedly shot and killed Conway. Martin allegedly took the battery and sim card out of Conway’s cell phone and threw the phone into Capaha Lagoon.
