MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) - Police in Mayfield, Kentucky said they investigated a crash at the intersection of Interstate 69 and U.S. Highway 45.

According to police, a semi truck driven by John Robin Joseph from Ontario, Canada made an improper turn at a location where U-turns are not allowed.

Joseph was cited for improper turning and blocking a highway.

Police said Joseph tried the improper turn from the interstate exit southbound and was trying to go back northbound.

The semi cut its air lines during the turn, according to police. This blocked the road.

A Jeep driven by Jody Ridenour was headed north from Highway 45 entering the interstate on a ramp.

Police said Ridenour had to swerve to avoid the semi and flipped his Jeep. He was taken to an area medical center by Mayfield EMS for his injuries.

Odams Truck Repair fixed the semi and removed it from the roadway. The Jeep was towed away by Burls Wrecker Service.
