CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - Two people are facing charges following an investigation in Caruthersville, Missouri.

After investigating possible stolen guns, police went to the Economy Inn on May 14.

A woman was seen passing a plastic bag to a man in the room. The man tried to crumble the bag and hide it according to police.

Officers forced the bag with “contraband” from the man’s hand.

The woman admitted to police she had a syringe with meth in it.

A female was arrested on a shoplifting warrant out of Kennett, and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A male was arrested for tampering with evidence.

No guns were found in the room and the names are not being released according to police.

Both were placed on 24 hour hold pending formal charges.
