PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial in Perryville is having their grand opening the weekend of May 18 and 19.
Perry County Heritage Tourism Director Trish Erzfeld said they plan to have anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 that weekend visiting the grand opening event.
With the large influx of people, several businesses are lending a helping hand by allowing visitors to park in their parking lots.
Those parking lots are located at TG Missouri, Ranken Technical College, Robinson's Construction, Atlas EPS and Jim's Auto Service.
"We will have shuttle services from those parking areas to the Missouri's National Veterans Memorial site on Saturday," Erzfeld informed. "Shuttles run from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. back and forth continuously."
Erzfeld said it's nice to have so many people and businesses that support the MNVM for that grand opening weekend and throughout the last years of construction.
"It is such a wonderful community here that we live in," Erzfeld continued. "Everyone has been so gracious with their time, talent and resources to help us welcome so many people here to our community to thank all those who have served."
