WASHINGTON (KFVS) - Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) delivered his maiden speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday, May 15.
The maiden speech tradition is where “Senators set the tone for their term by taking to the floor to deliver their first major address,” according to Hawley’s office.
The speech took place at 9:45 a.m. CT in the United States Senate Chamber.
“We Missourians are known for our frankness, and today I will be frank. Because this is a moment of great need for my state and for our nation,” said Hawley.
