Man arrested after police respond to alarm at pharmacy

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) - Metropolis Police investigated a stolen identity case after responding to an alarm at pharmacy Tuesday, April 16.

Metropolis Police officers responded to an alarm at Metropolis Drugs #2 on the 1000 block of E. Fifth St.

After they arrived at the store, officers learned that a man had allegedly attempted to fill a forged prescription.

Officers report their investigation revealed the victim, a doctor, had his DEA number and ID stolen.

Metropolis officers arrested Garret L. Collins, 32 of Jesup, Georgia.

Collins was charged with ID theft and booked in the Massac County Detention Center.
