Fort Campbell soldier dies in non-combat incident overseas

(KFVS) - The Department of Defense reported the death of a Fort Campbell soldier overseas.

According to the DoD, Spc. Ryan Dennis Orin Riley, 22 of Richmond, Kentucky died on April, 20 in Ninawa Province, Iraq from a non-combat related incident.

His death is under investigation at this time.

Gov. Matt Bevin relesased this statement on Monday, April 22:

Our hearts are broken for the family of this young Kentucky soldier," said Gov. Bevin. “May God bring peace and comfort to those grieving as only He can.”

Riley was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
