A clear, calm and chilly Easter morning underway with daybreak air temps mainly in the upper 30s to low 40s. Winds are light to calm, so there won’t be much of a wind chill factor. Overall a chilly but otherwise pleasant Easter morning. Once the sun comes up, light south winds will develop…which along with a building upper ridge will result in a sunny and warm day with afternoon highs of about 75 to 80. A few clouds will drift through overnight…which along with a light south wind will keep it from getting quite as cool. Monday will be dry again…but a bit breezier and more humid as south winds begin to blow in higher dew point air.
Still looking like a more active period from about late Tuesday thru Thursday….as a more active jet stream pattern develops and a weak front drifts in from the north. A few showers and thunderstorms look likely from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. Later in the period models are trying to move an upper low through the south and lower Mississippi valley; this may impact our region as well depending on the eventual path. The bottom line looks to be a period of unsettled weather mid-week. At this point, however…the heavy rain and severe threats look pretty low, but stay tuned for any updates.
