A deep upper low is closing off right over the region this morning….and will strengthen as it drifts southeastward today. Overall this will keep our weather chilly, windy and wet…though rain chances will be tricky depending on the circulation around the low. Currently it looks like best chance of rain today will be over our southeastern counties closer to the center of the low…with drier conditions over northern and western counties. But it will be chilly and breezy throughout, with highs only in the upper 40s to low 50s….with a wind chilly factor because of the cold winds. Rain may actually decrease this morning then get heavier again this afternoon and evening as the low deepens…before slowly moving out from west to east overnight….leaving us mainly dry and much more pleasant for the weekend.
On Saturday morning clouds and even a bit of rain could be lingering in far eastern counties, but overall it should end up as a mainly sunny day as the upper low pushes east. We’ll keep some cool northwest winds, however. Easter Sunday is looking warmer and less breezy, with a cool quiet morning then afternoon highs in the upper 70s as we get under an upper ridge with light southwest winds for a day or two. Monday looks downright warm and dry….with highs near 80°, before we get into a more active period again by late Tuesday into Wednesday. The jet stream looks to sink southward again along with a frontal boundary, and some showers and thunderstorms could result.
