MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - An arrest has been made in a stolen car case in McCracken County, Kentucky.
Mark A. Holmes, 29 of Paducah was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 and criminal mischief third-degree.
Sheriff’s Department officials said they got a report of a stolen 2008 Saturn Vue from a car dealership in the area on March 28.
According to dealership workers, the car was valued at $2,400. Deputies said they entered the car as stolen in the national database.
A few days later on March 30 deputies found the stolen car abandoned in the 3000 block of Estes Lane.
Deputies said they found items inside the vehicle that helped them determine who had been driving it. Deputies said the vehicle also had a window damaged that occurred during the theft. The vehicle was returned to the dealership at that time.
A follow up investigation led to identifying Holmes. Deputies said video surveillance obtained through the investigation identified Holmes as operating the stolen vehicle. A warrant was obtained for Holmes’ arrest.
Deputies said they found Holmes on April 13. He was passed out in a car parked behind a church in the Farley area according to deputies. Holmes was arrested without incident.
Holmes is a suspect in several other incidents according to officials. Additional arrests of his associates are expected.
