Notre Dame’s Burger setting national marks

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Riley Burger is a junior at Notre Dame Regional High School and is also the number one triple jumper in the nation in her grade.

Earlier this year, Burger posted the highest mark of anyone in the nation for triple jump. She now sits behind three seniors as the fourth best jumper in the country.

Burger had always dreamed of playing softball, but her P.E. teacher noticed her touching rim during gym class. She was quickly sent to the track and showed off her talents.

Riley is first in the state in the triple, long and high jump and has the ultimate goal this year of winning all three events at state.

She is the two-time state defending champion in triple jump.

Burger will continue her jumping career in college, although she is not sure where yet.
