Grant Dade iswatching an area of precipitation moving towards the Heartland. This will cause rain, possibly mixed with snow at times, to begin fall throughout the evening hours.

The greatest threat of seeing accumulating snow will be across our northwestern counties where a winter weather advisory is in effect.

Heavy rain with isolated thunderstorms will develop across the southern half of the Heartland tonight.

Some areas could receive over two inches of rain in our southeastern counties and this could lead to flooding concerns.

Temperatures will slowly rise across the Heartland after midnight.

Current analysis of the atmosphere shows the cloud level freezing line. Areas northwest of this line could see snow....

The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers to use extreme caution during this evening’s commute.

Because of the timing of the wintry precipitation bridges, overpasses and roads will be impacted.

The rain will move out of the Heartland Wednesday.

High temperatures on Wednesday will be in the 40s and 50s.

Warm temperatures will continue through the week into the weekend.

We are keeping a close eye on Saturday for a chance of strong to severe storms in the Heartland.
