CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The very animals that many times want to stay inside out of the wet weather especially dogs.
At the Deer Creek Doggie Day Camp the rain doesn't fully put a damper on the dogs' outside play time but workers do keep them outside for less time.
Mat Kee says when it's raining they only keep the dogs out about 30 minutes instead of an hour.
if it's lightning and storming they won't go out but at home Kee says it's not the same for his pets.
"There's nothing driving them outside cause they're just gonna run out and then come right back in as much as they can. So they're not as interested. Here where you have the pack, where they're gonna go outside and play and they know that that's what they're doing, they don't really have any problem. They just go and get soaked all day."
Kee said it’s important to get your pets outside to burn energy. He says it’s actually worse for the staff but they put on rain gear and make it work.
