CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Cold weather can cause severe irritation to the skin, and that any amount of time spent outside for prolonged periods can be dangerous to ones health.
Dr. Kaif Mansuri a Doctor of Family Medicine at Shawnee Health Care in Carterville, Illinois says the best thing to do is to make sure to protect your skin by bundling up and making sure to stay hydrated and make sure to moisturize when possible.
“Hydrating yourself and applying lotion and stay out of the cold environment the best you can,” he said. “If you have to go out, jacket sweaters, gloves, scarf, bundle up before you go out.”
