South Euclid teen calls police on father for taking away her phone

SOUTH EUCLID, OH (WOIO) - South Euclid police officers were dispatched to a home on Plainfield Road for a theft report at 1:36 p.m. on Saturday.
Upon arrival, the 16-year-old complainant reportedly told officers her father stole her cell phone.
South Euclid police say the father told the officers he took her phone away for disciplinary reasons.
However, the teen insisted it was a theft and she was entitled to her phone, according to police.
Officers reportedly explained that having a cell phone under the age of 18 is a privilege, and not a right, as she believed.
South Euclid police say officers suggested she follow the rules her father set if she hoped to get her phone back.
