MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a theft suspect.
On January 4, deputies started investigating the theft of items from a vehicle in the 4000 block of Clarks River Road. They say an unknown suspect broke the side window out of the victim’s vehicle and took a purse containing multiple credit/debit cards.
Later the same evening, at around 7:35 p.m., the unknown suspect used of the victim’s stolen credit cards at Kroger on Park Avenue to buy a pre-paid credit card. The suspect also tried to use two other credit cards stolen from the victim, but the transactions were declined.
The suspect is described as a approximately 5-feet, 9-inches tall with a thin build and short hair. He was seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a white logo and dark denim pants.
Deputies say he was seen getting out of a newer-model, possibly 2016-2018, white Chrysler Town and Country minivan with a black luggage rack. The vehicle did not have a visible registration plate and may have possibly had a temporary tag in a window.
They say the van was also driven by a second person with a large build and wearing a gray jacket.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department is looking for help from the public in identifying the unknown suspect. If anyone has information that may be related to this case, please contact the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department at 270-444-4719.
The sheriff’s department would also like to remind residents to remove items from view when leaving vehicles locked or unattended. It is recommended to store items of value in the trunk or a compartment where they are not visible from outside of the vehicle.
