PIONEER VILLAGE, KY (WAVE) - Police arrested two step-brothers after a wild police chase in Bullitt County.

James Anderson, 26, of Louisville, and Taylor McKenzie, 24, of Shepherdsville, are accused of stealing a Ford Explorer from Louisville and spray painting it blue.

The chase, which happened Wednesday, started in the Preston Village mobile home park and ended a few miles away on Stave Mill Road.

During the chase, police said the men ran a school bus off the road and tried to ram an officer’s cruiser.

Police had to back off when the terrain became too dangerous.

Anderson and McKenzie were found hiding in an apartment and taken into custody by Pioneer Village Police.

They both face a long list of charges including fleeing police, wanton endangerment, criminal trespassing, burglary and receiving stolen property.

Court records indicate McKenzie had a warrant out for his arrest.

The brothers are being held in the Bullitt County Detention Center, each on a $50,000 cash bond. McKenzie has an additional bond of $10,000.

Anderson and McKenzie are due in court on Jan. 17.
