MARION, IL (KFVS) - The Missouri-based company carGO Technologies will be expanding it services to the Marion, Illinois area.
Company officials said in February of 2019 Marion residents will have access to the company’s transportation and delivery services.
Jeremiah Griesbach who co-owns Jeremiah’s Kitchen in Marion, Illinois says that he has been contacted by carGo to possibly be one of the restaurants to have their food delivered.
He believes that this will help him compete with other business because it takes care of a lot of the liability and insurance worries that comes along with hiring delivery drivers.
He said that whether or not Marion will be able to sustain a service like carGo carry will need to be tested he does see it as a positive for consumers.
“Customers have been coming to the store for two years begging me to do deliveries and I just didn’t have the means personnel wise to do it,” he said. “I don’t have to worry about the insurance or the liability of it. I’m excited to try.”
“I’m just now able to compete with other places, like Papa Johns or other pizza joints, places that do delivery now, because people that sit at home and want delivery, they know how have more options," he added. “I don’t think it will prevent people who were coming before from continuing to come.”
With carGO people can connect people who want on-demand and scheduled rides and deliveries of restaurant food, alcohol and other business items from drivers in their area. Check out the requirements to be a driver here.
