Winter Storm causing traffic issues in the Heartland

(KFVS) - Winter weather has caused some hazardous road conditions in the Heartland.


MoDOT has reported covered roads in Dunklin County, Mo. as result of the winter weather. Highways 412, 164, 25, E and NN all have reports of roadways covered. Highway 53 is seeing partially covered roads.

The have also been partially covered roadways in Butler County, Mo.

The system is expected to also bring wintry weather in northwest Tennessee and western Kentucky.


According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC): Fulton, Hickman, Graves, Calloway, Trigg, Christian and Todd counties are all under a Winter Storm Warning until 9:00 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.

This means heavy mized precipitation of sleet, freezing rain and snow is expected. Significant accumulation of Snow and/or ice is possible on roadway, creating hazardous travfel conditions.

The Missouri Bootheel and Western Kentucky are expect to be impacted south of a line extending from New Madrid, Mo. to Mayfield, Ky and to Hopkinsville, Ky.
