More clouds expected as we head overnight into Friday. Most of Friday looks dry, but rain chances increase rapidly Friday night. Heavy rain expected Friday night into Saturday morning. Rain will change over to snow starting in our northwestern counties as early as the middle of the morning. The changeover will push southeast through the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will drop quickly Saturday evening. Accumulating snow is possible, especially in our northern half of the Heartland. One to two inches of snow is possible in this area, with lesser amounts south. Flash freezing is possible too, meaning the rain that fell on Saturday will freeze as colder temps spread into the area Saturday night into Sunday morning. Bottom line, travel will become dicey in many areas later Saturday and continue into Sunday morning.
