MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - A scuffle broke out at the Jackson County Courthouse in Murphysboro Friday morning.
Jelisa Gaston, 17, faces Mob Action and Aggravated Battery charges.
Deputies say Gaston refused to cooperate with security officers, and allegedly struck one officer in the head.  She was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
It all started shortly after 24-year-old Elijah Lacey pleaded not guiilty to first-degree murder in the death of Falon Taylor.
Once the prisoners, including Lacey, were escorted out of the courthouse, both his family and family of the victim began yelling at one another down in the lobby.
The bailiffs told everyone to take it outside, but the yelling continued on the steps and sidewalk on the north side of the courthouse.
Police and deputies finally broke up the fight.
