YourTurn - 2/23/09

Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.

Heartland viewer Eddie Todt:
"The stimulus bill bailout will be a failure of monumental proportions. Our elected officials have forgotten who they represent; THE PEOPLE...let businesses succeed or fail of their own volition. Take care of the people so they don't panic and the economy, for the most part, will take care of itself."

Les Smith from Anna, Illinois:
"How can we as Americans expect to survive when we are buying more imported goods than American made (products)...look at what we are doing to ourselves every time we purchase goods that are made overseas...we are killing our own economy."

Phillip Penzel from Jackson, Missouri:
"I agree with Mike Smythe's ViewPoint about the Credit Cardholders Bill of Rights....recently I rewarded (some) employees with a VISA gift card.  As long as you have a balance on the card it works OK.  The moment you try to charge an amount as much as one penny over the amount on the card it will not let you charge anything.  If the person doesn't know better they will think they just used up the balance and just toss the card can't go to a bank and get cash for the amount left...not understanding this will lead to credit card companies keeping a lot of money and (also) the cards will expire."

Christy Linhart from East Prairie, Missouri:
"I see Charleston and Sikeston cleaning up their town after the storm and East Prairie told its residents to figure it out for themselves...(there) are a lot of elderly and disabled people who can't...there are funds available from the government in national disasters (to help)."
