Propane heater causes house fire in Portageville

PORTAGEVILLE, MO (KFVS) - A man attempting to hook up a propane heater caused an explosion in Portageville Thursday night.

According to New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens, a man was trying to hook up a propane heater and there was a gas lamp nearby with enought propane gas that got into the air it sparked the fire.

One of the propane tanks then exploded.

Everyone made if out safely.
