Police say estranged husband rams wife's car, hits her with weapon

DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A fight between a husband and wife in Dunklin County turns into a case of car theft and serious injuries.

Jesus Manuel Rangel faces Robbery 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Assault 1st Degree-Serious Physical Injury charges, according to the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office.
Police say the estranged husband, Rangel, rammed his car into the back of his wife's vehicle, pushing it into a ditch on Highway 108 near Arbyrd.  Police say he got out of his car and assaulted his wife with a weapon, hurting her.
She was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Memphis where she is recovering.
Then, police say Rangel left the scene in someone else's car who had stopped to help.  He was later caught on a different road near Arbyrd after he drove the stolen vehicle into a field and tried to flee on foot.
Officers took Rangel to the Dunklin County Justice Center on $100,000 cash only bond.
