Transformer fire knocks out power in parts of Sikeston

SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - Power is back on Thursday in Sikeston after a circuit breaker blew causing a fire at the substation.

The blow knocked out power to half the town Thursday night.

Sgt. Jim McMillen with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety says it took fire crews a little more than an hour to put it out after the fire started about 8:12 p.m.

Many viewers calling in to Heartland News say the the lights flickered in their homes and they saw a green, glowing light near the power plant.

No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is unknown
