Brown Shoe Company lays off 59 workers

FREDERICKTOWN, MO (KFVS) - The Brown Shoe Company in Fredericktown has laid off 59 workers.
Only 43 jobs still remain at the business.
The Missouri Rapid Response Team has been notified.  It offers counseling and resume help to employees who've lost their jobs.
Several other businesses around the country are also cutting jobs.
Radio giant Clear Channel is cutting its workforce by nine percent which means the elimination of more than 1800 jobs.
Bank of America is preparing to layoff 4000 employees.  The company says these cuts are part of the 35,000 layoffs previously announced.
The Bose corporation, known for its high-end audio equipment, is cutting 1000 jobs.  That's about 10 percent of its work force.
