Three men arrested on drug, gun charges

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Police in Carbondale say guns and drugs land three men behind bars.
The first arrest happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday. 
Police say they found 21-year-old Gregory Bennett walking on the 700 block of South Lewis Lane carrying a gun.
When they approached him, they also found he had marijuana.  Bennett was taken to the Jackson County Jail on possession of a firearm by a felon and drug charges.
Then, about 10 p.m. Wednesday police stopped a car on east Walnut Street.
Police say a passenger in the car, 20-year-old Courtney McKenzie, had a loaded hand gun and marijuana.
After an investigation, police got a search warrant for a nearby residence.
There, they arrested 20-year-old Marc Hudson for several drug and weapon charges including defacing identification marks on a firearm, possessing a firearm without a FOID card, manufacture and delivery of cannabis and possession of cannabis.
Both McKenzie and Hudson were taken to the Jackson County Jail.
