Man Accused of Severely Beating Woman

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - A Cape Girardeau man faces several charges after police say he severely beat a woman.
Terry Pruitt, 32, is accused of first degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, holding her against will, and resisting arrest.
Police arrested Pruitt at 230 Good Hope St. around 12:30 a.m. Friday.
According to Cpl. Jason Selzer with the Cape Girardeau Police Department, Pruitt beat the woman with a broom and extension cord, breaking both her hands.
Selzer says police had to use a Taser to subdue the man.
Pruitt is in jail on $250,000 cash only bond.
