Cape Girardeau 2009 Air Festival Canceled

By: Heartland News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo - The Cape Girardeau Regional Airport announces the Cape Girardeau Regional Air Festival is taking this year off. Bruce Loy, the airport manager, says the group was unable to set a date with the United States Navy Blue Angels demonstation flight team.

Loy said the Blue Angels' public affairs representatives contacted the office several times regarding a May performance date, but the military jet team wasn't able to fit Cape Giradeau into their busy schedule.

The group hopes to bring the popular air show back in 2010. Loy says he thinks they'll be able to bring the Blue Angels back next year.
