Fire Destroys House in Bollinger County

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. - An early morning fire destroyed a house in Bollinger County.

Fire crews were called to the home near County Road 640 around 12:30 Thursday morning.

The homeowner woke up and smelled smoke.  He escaped without injury.

Crews from Marble Hill, Advance, and Zalma were on the scene for several hours.

The Marble Hill fire chief tells Heartland News the fire started around the chimney flue.
