Country Church Tour Boasts 25 sites Thursday and Friday in Southeast Missouri
By: Lauren Keith
On Thursday, December 18th and Friday, December 19th, 25 rural churches in southeast Missouri will welcome visitors from 3 to 9 p.m. The churches want to share the beauty of their houses of worship with the community during the season.
Most of the churches will offer either a cup of soup, appetizers, or Christmas cookies, and perhaps a beverage. Many of the churches have historic or special features to show. Several have live music. One church will show off a brand new sanctuary since a tornado destroyed the old one!
There is no charge for the tour, though visitors can donate to the churches they choose if they like. Organizers say to participate, simply visit any one of the churches from the list below to start the self-guided tour, and receive a list of the rest of the churches and an area map with directions to each.
