Former Mercy Regional President Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

BENTON, Ill. - The former president of Mercy Regional Health Systems in Benton, Illinois will spend almost five years in prison.
A judge handed down that sentenced 31-year-old Clayton Hobbs and gave him three years supervised release.
Hobbs pleaded guilty to withholding federal payroll taxes from Mercy Regional employees while he was president, and failing to pay more than $2 million of federal employment taxes to the IRS.
Under the sentence, Hobbs also has to pay more than $2.2 million in restitution.
