CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Cape Girardeau Police had a busy 24 hours dealing with a shooting, car chase, and stabbing in town.
Tuesday night around 7:07, a 37-year-old woman from Oran was sitting in her car outside a business at 213 Kingshighway when she thought she heard a firecracker, according to Cpl. Jason Selzer with the Cape Girardeau Police Department.  She then felt a pain in her stomach and found she had been shot.  The bullet apparently ripped through the ragtop of her 1991 convertible.  She was treated at a hospital.  Police have no suspects in custody.
Around 9:30 Wednesday morning, police noticed a man peeling out in front of other cars at the corner of S. Kingshighway and Broadway.  Selzer says the man traveled north in the southbound lanes on Kingshighway.  At one point the man hit a car at Lexington and Kingshighway, but kept going.  Seltzer says the chase continued onto Interstate 55 where the man ran off the road into a ditch.  He then got out of the car and took off running.  An officer caught up with the man and tased him.  The 21 year old from Mound City faces numerous traffic charges, DWI, and resisting arrest.
Around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, someone stabbed a 27-year-old man in the back at 716 Broadway.  Selzer says the victim is not cooperating with police and no suspect is in custody.  The man was treated at the hospital.
