SIKESTON, Mo. (AP) - A dentist and a veterinarian in Sikeston are accused of distributing illegal drugs.

Police arrested both the dentist, 51-year-old Ted Lewis, and the veterinarian, 30-year-old Stephen Curry, on Friday. They face eight counts of distributing controlled substances without a license.

Police say the investigation began in the summer. A Scott County grand jury indicted both men.

Lewis was released on $25,000 bond. In addition to the drug charges, Curry is charged with eight counts of forgery and two counts of theft of a controlled substance. He was released after posting $50,000 bond.
