Investigation Continues After Off-Duty Deputy Crashes

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. - An investigation continues after a car crash involving an off-duty Williamson County sheriff's deputy.
Sheriff Tom Cundiff says the crash happened late Wednesday night.
After a 911 call came in reporting a possible drunk driver, Illinois State Police were dispatched to the scene.
A motorist called back in and said the car had ran off the road.
After arriving at the scene, an officer identified the person inside the crashed car as an off-duty sheriff's deputy.
Reportedly, while the investigating officer was searching the crashed car, the off-duty deputy somehow left from the scene.
The name of the off-duty deputy has not been released at this time.
