AT&T Settles Cell Phone Lawsuit with Missouri Communities
By: Heartland News
Several Heartland communities are about to get a big boost in their city coffers.
AT & T Wireless is settling a lawsuit by more than 300 Missouri communities over phone taxes.
The $76.3 million agreement could end years of dispute.
Local governments have insisted cell phones be taxed the same as land lines, while wireless companies say they are different.
University City prosecutor, and lead council John Mulligan Junior says the deal could be finalized by next April if all sides agree.
