A man in jail in connection with a deadly hit-and-run accident gets his sentence commuted.
A report out Monday indicates Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher has reduced the sentence of Harrison yonts.
Yonts was supposed to serve 20 years for the hit-and-run death of a Murray State University student about two years ago.
Fletcher has reportedly reduced that sentence to eight years.
Harrison Yonts is the son of Democratic State Representative Brent Yonts.
In addition, Fletcher commuted the sentences of two more inmates and issued 83 pardons.
This was Fletcher's last big bang in office.
Democrat Steve Beshear is scheduled to be sworn in as Kentucky's new governor right around midnight.
