New world record certified for Mentos soda fountain launch

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - It's official, according to the Guinness Book of World Records KFVS along with more than 1000 viewers helped launch 973 soda fountains.

Former KFVS meteorologist Jason Lindsey says he received the notification from Guinness Thursday night. The e-mail states:

The current record for "Most Mentos and soda fountains" is: The record for most Mentos and soda fountains is 973 and was set by KFVS at Arena Park, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA, on 3 October 2007.
