Remembering Longtime KFVS12 Photojournalist Ron Wilson

Longtime Heartland News photojournalist Ron Wilson died early Wednesday morning.
He was 65 years old.  His visitation is set for this Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape.  His funeral will be held at the same location Saturday morning at 10.
Ron picked up a film camera in 1964 and covered many of the Heartland's biggest stories over parts of five decades.
He died suddenly only weeks after retiring from KFVS-TV.
Ron served with pride in the U.S. Marines.  He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal, but we at Heartland News promoted him with the nickname "Sarge."
Ron hated being on TV, but he was always willing to talk about the hard work of his beloved Marine Corps league.
Ron had a passion for promoting veterans issues and honors.
Ron's older brother, Richard, paid the ultimate sacrifice in Korea and Sarge spent countless hours honoring Richard's memory.
