Cape Airport Takes Flight Again

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - After about eight months with no commercial flights in or out of the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, several planes finally come and go from the small airfield.
"It's great, we're very excited," said Bruce Loy, Airport Manager. "Things are looking up now that we've started flights again. "
While some may complain about the connection in Cincinnati, rather than a closer stop in St. Louis, we talked to several passengers who enjoy the new options.
"Now it's a direct flight for me, rather than having a stopover and renting a car to visit my parents," said Sherri Machado, of Cincinnati.
Derek Honaas was on his way from Cape to State Park, Pennsylvania, and cut out at least one layover. He calls it "awesome".
