Police Turn Over Investigation of Homecoming Brawl

ANNA, Ill. - An investigation by police of a homecoming parade altercation between the Anna-Jonesboro Community High School's football and soccer teams is in the hands of school administrators.
A parent of a soccer player injured in last Friday's flare-up has opted not to press charges. But school officials who this week were given the police report plan to use the students' statements to make recommendations to the school board and superintendent.
During last week's homecoming parade, riders on the soccer team's parade float accused the varsity football team of throwing rocks. The football players say they only threw candy, and that soccer players also threw items at them.
