NCAA Contacts SEMO President Regarding Violations

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- The NCAA has contacted Southeast Missouri State University regarding findings from an ongoing probe in to the Women's Basketball Team.
Heartland Sports has obtained a letter sent to Southeast Missouri State University President Ken Dobbins.
According to the letter, SEMO submittted a report to the NCAA regarding the facts of their internal investigation. The NCAA states that the Division I Committee on Infractions has accepted the facts, but has decided to a further review of the penalties in this case is needed.
The Division I Committee will revisit the SEMO Women's Basketball case at its next scheduled meeting October 5-7.
The NCAA tells President Dobbins that additional penalties could be imposed on the university. It specifically states that "a vacation of records (wins) would be appropriate". This means that wins could be taken away from the Women's Basketball team.
